I greet all of you in utter gratitude as we enter another month of planetary service. While the “how” and “what “of this service may not be so easy to grasp in such a complicated time, may we commit to it anyway, since we can surely agree that it is truly needed now. Like many of you, I am deeply saddened by the images coming from Gaza, where it now appears that the Palestinian people there are being systematically starved and even murdered while standing in food lines. How is this even possible in the 21st century, or as we approach and enter the Aquarian Age? In the face of such cruelty, it may be tempting to put our heads in the proverbial “sand” and just hope things will get better. However, this stance is neither proactive nor is it in alignment with Gandhi’s admonition that we “be the change [we] want to see in the world.”
Like me, some of you may be experiencing sleepless nights and a wracking of the brain to ascertain how we might possibly be of some benefit to those facing such horrors. Of course, Gaza is not the only hot bed of cruelty, death and horror. I often wonder what Master would do were he physically embodied at this time. Surely, we are being called to serve as High Witnesses as humans invoke a radical paradigm shift. Without allowing the overwhelming intensity of this critical moment to consume us, we must rise above our tendency to want to look away from such horrors. So, how shall we “be the change” we want to see manifest in a world so shattered by conflict and cruelty?
In the teaching for this month, Master directs us to focus on how our minds perceive the world that now rises before us. This teaching goes a step further in working with our perceptions than did the June teaching. Master notes that the spiritual journey we are now being called to engage in is a two-fold path, i.e., a personal path and a planetary path. We must consciously engage this seemingly bifurcated spiritual journey and allow it to take us beyond the separation we perceive and lodge us firmly in the Unity that is the real Reality. On page two of the transcript, Master notes: “Indeed, the seeming chasm between self and other can appear to be daunting and way too wide to cross. Yet, things are not always as they seem, are they?”
While I won’t claim to grasp the full scope of what Master means here, I at least find such statements strangely comforting. I invite you all to join me this month in harvesting the gems Master has put in this short teaching, entitled “Political Chaos and the Awakening Mind.” May each of us take some comfort in Master’s words and perhaps find sufficient inspiration to “Keep on keeping on” (to use one of Master’s favorite phrases). Those of you who are now working on the 7th Ray, let us join together in projecting it into the areas that so need cleansing from the stains of abject cruelty. May Master’s grace enfold us and spread throughout the world, that beings everywhere may be refreshed by the sweetness of peace. May we quickly see the fruits of our efforts. So be it!
Sending blessings,
