Beloved Students:
I greet you once again in the glory of another fresh month on planet Earth. What a wondrous experience it is to comprehend the turning points in the seasonal flow of Earth. How fortunate you are to witness the ongoing beauty of such a wondrous planet. As you continue to deepen into a greater state of balance, it is good to recognize that Earth, too, must maintain balance as She enters the provocative challenge points the coming year will bring.
As you have probably noticed, we have been stressing commitments to yourself these past few months. There is good reason for this, since often spiritual aspirants tend to overlook the commitments they make in regard to their spiritual practice and development. Often, folks count more precious the commitments they make to others. Yet under scrutiny, it becomes apparent that all commitments are commitments made to one’s self.
Indeed, there may not even be such a thing as “another person” to whom commitments can be made. This does, of course, beg for scrutiny, and when deeply investigated, it turns out that all those “others” are simply different pieces of yourself. Perhaps they do not exist as you perceive them. Perhaps the illusion of the independent self is coming to a close for you. If so, you will be happy to note that the grace that flows to you is sufficient to cover all those seemingly exposed places wherein you have not seen through the illusions that arise in your mind.
These are very exciting times; times in which you are stretching into realms that were hereto-fore unavailable to you. This is not to say that you could not have entered them previously, but that you, for whatever reason, were previously choosing not to enter them. For the most part, your unavailability to such power realms came either from fear or perhaps a lack of comprehension of the very realms to which you now draw nigh.
Please allow yourself to boldly enter these realms, for they were created for your delight and pleasure. The realms of which I here speak are the realms of infinite possibility, profound potential and limitlessness. While to name them may sound somewhat grandiose, in truth, these very realms exist for your spiritual exploration.
Let me say once more that your commitments to yourself are gravely important. The openness you experience at the time of making those commitments says something of your True Nature. In the final analysis, the recognition of your True Nature is perhaps the most important discovery you can make in the course of your entire life-stream. So many lives have compelled you to see only a small portion of your divine potential that you may have come to believe in something less than the Truth of your divine beingness.
Thus, when you actually grasp your divine nature, you will understand the importance of the commitments you make to yourself. Indeed, these commitments are made to some Whole greater than you now imagine. While you may not be able to comprehend the scope of that vastness in the present moment, know that you are made in the likeness of the Source of All Being, and that when you fail a commitment to yourself, you fail a commitment to your Source.
Of course, this lesson is not about failure; it is about stretching into your Source potential. Even though you many not have exact images for comprehending that Source, still, you can enter the wisdom path that the great sages and rishis before you have entered. Such is not a path of confusion, but one that must lead you, in the end, to the fulfillment of your spiritual goals and aspirations. While you may not always recognize this truth, you have everything you need to negotiate well the journey you have set about completing. You are the sunshine of your Soul, and you must actively engage all the parts of you that earnestly desire your spiritual liberation. Thus, keep the commitments you make to yourself.
As we enter the final quarter of 2009, know that you are already setting in place the events and conditions you will experience in 2010. This is a great time to open to deeper understandings of how karma drives your life. Those of you in the northern hemisphere will soon enter the contemplative time of the year. For you, this is a great time to contemplate the journey of your life thus far, and to begin planting the seeds you will want to sprout in the coming springtime. For those of you living in the southern hemi-sphere, as you enter the time of activity and blossoming, hold well in mind the intentions you seek to bring into manifestation.
These are indeed empowering times. However, you may have also noticed that they are con-fusing times for many people. While it is understandable that people are confused in these remarkable times of great planetary shifting, it is important that you push through whatever dense veils of illusion come your way. The coming year will hold many potentials to be realized. Even so, there are likely to be many pitfalls along the way, as well. Your task is to decipher the code of “Isness” shining through all the points of illusion; a task that is not so easy, nor straightforward, as it may sound.
Of course, it must go without saying that in order to complete 2009 well, you must continually observe the movements of your mind. In so doing, you will discover that there is nothing against which to struggle. There is only the beautiful process of spirit learning how to “indwell” matter. Indeed, the adage, “Seek and you shall find” has never been more appropriate that it is today. You are seeking your divinity, and the irony is that It is right in front of your nose. That which you so desperately seek has been like your shadow throughout this life and many others. Thus, you have only to open your heart and accept your True Nature.
Please join me this month in listening to a lecture I recently gave in an international teleconference entitled Karmic Complications and Commitments. Please listen carefully and open yourself to recognize that when you made each commitment to your spiritual development, you did so from an open, beautiful heart. Thus, there is no need to look back over the years and seek to punish yourself for those commitments you were unable to keep. The reason you were unable to fulfill those commitments in the past is completely irrelevant. What is relevant is that you take yourself seriously enough to keep the commitments you make to yourself in the future.

Know that you are participating in a “picture” much bigger than you can visualize at the present time. Do your utmost to allow yourself to be “operated upon” by the divine forces at work in this world. Rest in the knowledge that just as other before you have attained their spiritual liberation, so you, too, will accomplish your own liberation. However, in the accomplishing of that special goal, you discover that the liberation you seek is not a personal thing. Rather, it is your gift to an entire realm of sentient beings who joyfully celebrate the power of all spiritual liberation.
