Beloved Students:
I greet you this month in the flow of clarity we seek to bring to the collective application of masculine energies on planet Earth. As you all know, I am sure, there have been many points of distortion superimposed upon masculine energy, often making it difficult to differentiate between what I have termed the “clear masculine,” and that which we may regard as the “distorted masculine,” or patriarchal energy. As most of you have discovered by now, the non-clear version of this side of the energy spectrum can be a powerful force with which to reckon!
I hope you are all paying careful attention to masculine and feminine energies as they arise in your daily under-takings. It is particularly beneficial to notice when those energies slip from the clear level into the non-clear level. Of course, part of the problem is that most people are unaware when this slippage occurs. They likely tend to justify their anger, irritation, frustration, greed, as well as their tendencies to control and dominate instead of actually cutting through the emotional and mental blow-back these generate.
Of course, to the lesser-evolved ego, these may seem to be worthy pursuits. To the more evolved, however, these are all categories ripe for “re-education.” The developing aspirant must ultimately dissolve the non-clear levels of both masculine and feminine energies if profound spiritual goals are to be attained. You probably realize by now that the karmic bakchaks seated within the ego are what prevent the spiritual attainment that is possible in a given lifetime. Even those who feel they have their own egos mastered (or at least “in tow”) will have opportunity to discover that under carefully scrutiny, those hidden egoic motivations, as well as personal points of familiar disappointment, all arise from unhealed (or immature) ego projections.
Indeed, the finer points of ego clarification may prove to be most difficult for the ego. It has, of course, a vested interest in not scrutinizing these areas. Even though such is the most promising work (in terms of cutting through the illusions that cloud clear seeing), still, the ego remains unimpressed by the possible and clings to the status quo. Indeed, you might conclude that the ego is itself an extension of the patriarchy, or non-clear masculine. While this may come as quite a shock to aspirants who may be over identified with the white goddess, still, such is a major obstacle in the spiritual education of the ego.
As you can see, there are multiple parts to this business of attaining balance. The first, of course, is well-applied mindfulness. While such may be paramount to virtually all levels of spiritual development, it is critical when it comes to balance and equanimity. While one may proceed with some unconsciousness and still be heading for the spiritual goal in many areas, when it comes to establishing balance in one’s life, it is quite impossible without keenly focused mindfulness.
After all, it is quite easy to see how most of the world is fast asleep with it comes to balance, is it not? This is the first (and very convincing) clue that sleepiness is lethal to balance. In fact, it is the ego’s insistence on remaining asleep that fosters and supports the amazing demonstrations of imbalance so rampantly displayed in the world today. Could Wall Street have taken such a dive if “inhabitants” were awake?
The consideration of healing the world, or at least of affecting some sort of emancipation from the prisons of personal, cultural, and global imbalance, is clearly the collective experiment at this time. As we have previously noted, those who founded the U.S. openly spoke of the great experiment of their time – an experiment in government to discover if people could summon and practice the wisdom to govern themselves. Today, such may not seem like such a novel idea, but some 200 years ago, it was seen as a very risky matter, particularly by rulers and men of influence in Europe and Asia.
Of course, the work we move to accomplish in our plane-to-plane efforts may not appear to be the cure for the global community, since it is primarily focused at the singular level. You may have noticed that the emphasis remains on the individual (namely, you). It takes a leap in consciousness to see that such is the means for transforming the world, as well. Yet, if we seek world transformation through preaching to the world at large, we are left with an unworkable predicament. Like many who, before you, have preached to the world, our preaching can gain the world’s attention only through some kind of condemnation. In order to present a new “truth,” we would have to condemn the old “truth” (or what we have interpreted that “truth” to be).
If we take this approach, we find ourselves sliding down the slippery slope that has claimed the voices of so many hyper moralists and their condemning ways. While such may give the appearance of change for a while, sooner or later, some event arises to confirm that the people simply did not get the lesson (if, indeed, the lesson was even truly worthy of the “getting”). Thus, we dare not become preachers on the topic of imbalance, for it will most surely lead to condemnation, intolerance and bigotry – all of which could become the undoing of both the message and the messenger.
The changes we may hope to see in the world will not come through preaching from a base of condemnation nor intolerance. Rather, each must, as Gandhi so eloquently reflected, “become the change [s/he] wants to see in the world.” This means that a balanced world can only arise from balanced people, not preachers of one ilk or another. Thus, rather than preaching about balance, those who will ultimately see the world moving into balance are those who learn to see the world through balanced eyes, hearts and minds.
Indeed, these times constitute a precious opportunity to learn to penetrate the barrier of the obvious, to open to the great mystery of planetary evolution, and to see beyond the powerful hallucination of appearances. While these may be our planetary goals, it is doubtful they will come about as a result of preaching! Rather than being strengthened by argument and analysis, living transformation arises only in the process of embodiment. This is the very reason that the countless comings and goings of myriad “preachers” before you have not transformed the world. Simply stated, transformation only arises when it is embodied, and thus is not a didactic conveyance.
With our focus on the clear masculine this month, it is paramount that each of you redoubles your efforts of divesting the ego of its patriarchal leanings. This is true whether you are currently experiencing in a male body or a female body. Indeed, the internal patriarch is quite capable of using both genders to accomplish its goals!
It is most interesting to note the fact that so many people continue the patterns of dominance by or through which they suffered as children. While sometimes the domination themes are perpetrated outward upon others in their lives, all too often, the ego perpetrates those very patterns on the self! While this is not at all a logical matter, the ego reinforces its patriarchal power in re-inflicting on the adult self the same patterns that were inflicted by others on the child self. What this amounts to is the ego “embodying” the afflictive roles of prior perpetrators (whoever they may have been). When, however, the aspirant learns to see through the ego’s patriarchal prowess, then living transformation may be embodied, freeing the ego from the influence of the internal patriarch. While all this may sound fairly easy to grasp, in truth, such is the work of a lifetime.
The most difficult task (but also the most liberating) is learning to see when the clear masculine lapses into the patriarchal. Once again, I am speaking of this movement with regard to both masculine and feminine egos. If you are able to observe the slip, you will discover two things: 1) There is no need to take the ego’s exploits personally, and 2) The patriarchal influences that flow through the ego can be nullified and dissolved. Indeed, both of these realizations are cause for celebration!
Please join me this month in studying, Reclaiming the Clear Masculine, a lecture I recently recorded for you. It is my intention to deepen your understanding of these polar energies, as well as the presentation of them in their distorted forms, significantly enough that you can no longer tolerate the presence of imbalance in your own life. If we can accomplish that, then there is a real possibility that we can alter the out-of-balance state of the world. However, do not think we can do this “overnight,” nor in the proverbial “five minutes.” Our goal must simply be to provide more balance in your own self, your family and your work place. Given this, success is at hand.
In our teaching next month, we will be focusing on the patriarchy (or distorted masculine). We will be paying particular attention to the manipulation factor that always accompanies patriarchal energy, and we will (hopefully) provide a mirror, polished radiantly enough to allow you to see where the internal patriarchal flow arises in your own life. While I realize that some of you may find you have some significant resistance to “going there,” I do believe it is the kindest, most generous thing we can do for the planet at this time.
It is my fondest intention that each of you is gaining an impeccable understanding of balance between these powerful energetic presentations that will help you in not only securing your spiritual path to a greater degree, but in such a way as to facilitate your own service to your fellow humans, and all other beings, as well. If we accomplish this, then our relationship will have made a difference in the course of Earth!
Know that you are exquisitely loved and cherished!
Djwhal Khul
P.S.: Please note that the daily thoughts this month will be short affirmations once more. May they serve you well.
